The Duno This page shows pictures of the boat and Bernard with his friend Dick Nauta
Conclusions

This brings us to the end of this history of a beautiful boat.
The care and upkeep of the Duno became Bernard’s hobby for his entire life. Whenever he had the opportunity, he could be found in the Boathouse on “De Kaag” lake, just south of Amsterdam. He constantly tried to improve it, and once he became a Naval Architect, he always demanded the best for his favorite boat.

When Bernard (seated) became too old and frail to work on the boat, he trusted his friend Dick Nauta to take over the care. This gentleman had the Duno totally refinished in the mid 1980’s.

There are more old photographs of the Duno. This is a small collection that was found in Bernard’s belongings when he passed away in 1985 at the age of 93.

Since his death the Duno was owned by several different people, and for a period of about 15 years it's whereabouts were unknown. Then in 2003 it was located at a private boat yard in Amsterdam. The Duno was eventually purchased by a collector who restored it to it's original splendor.

It can occassionally be seen at vintage boat shows in France.
